5 Healthy Recipes for Shakes.

1. Mango and strawberry shake

Mangoes and strawberries—both summer fruits—are the first on our list.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 banana that has been peeled and sliced
  • 1 mango that has been peeled and diced
  • 5 large strawberries – cubed

Recipe

Combine all ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth. If you want it to be cold, add some ice cubes at the end; alternatively you can also freeze the fruits before blending.

2. Pomegranate and berry shake

Pomegranate is a rich source of iron and berries are a powerful antioxidant.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups mixed berries
  • 1 cup pomegranate
  • 1 banana
  • ½  cup cottage cheese
  • ½  cup water

Recipe

Combine all the ingredients in the blender, blend until you have a smooth mixture, and serve.

3. Banana shake

A rich source of protein, this is an ideal shake after a grueling exercise regime.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 ripe large banana
  • 1 cup plain yogurt

Recipe

Blend all ingredients except the yoghurt until smooth. Then add in the yoghurt and blend again until it acquires the right consistency.

4. Apple avocado shake

This shake is very rich in antioxidants and iron.

      Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups of apple juice
  • 2 cups chopped spinach
  • 1 apple – unpeeled and diced
  • ½ chopped avocado

Recipe

Blend all the ingredients in a blender until it reaches the right consistency. Add water if needed.

5. Cucumber, apple and mint shake

Cucumber is the best coolant for the Indian summer, and this shake uses the goodness of this wonder vegetable.

Ingredients

  • 2 chopped and peeled cucumbers
  • ½ diced apple
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh mint

Recipe

Blend all the ingredients together for a few minutes and your shake is ready.
