Akshay Kumar: One film shouldn’t take more than 60 days

has said that he doesn’t understand how films can take 300-400 days to shoot, adding that he feels no film should ideally take more than 30-60 days of shooting.

According to a report in The Hindu, the actor was speaking at the trailer launch of his upcoming film ‘Housefull 3’ in Mumbai when he was asked how he manages to do 3-4 films a year. The veteran actor replied, “It is not rocket science, it is very easy, you just keep on working. I don’t think one film should take more than 60 days. I finishedHousefull 3 in 38 days.”
The actor said that he doesn’t understand how some films take over 10 months to shoot and finish. He said, “Everyone comes on time, we work hard. I work for eight hours and it was very fast. I had read that they made Mission Impossible in 52 days. I don’t know how we talk about 300 days and 400 days. Films are completed in 30-60 days, maximum you take 70 days, how much shooting will you do?”
Akshay added that sometimes the post-production takes more time than the actual shooting. Giving example of his upcoming film ‘Housefull 3’, he said, “My shooting days were 38 days, but it took 40 days to make the trailer because they (makers) couldn’t understand how to show in two and half minutes everything about its storyline. It was very difficult for them, I remember so many times they showed us, but nothing was working out.”Akshay has had five releases since the beginning of last year and two others lined up this year. His next film ‘Housefull 3’ also stars Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Lisa Haydon and Nargis Fakhri. The film has been directed by Farhad-Sajid.
