It all started when Arshad Warsiwas replaced by Akshay Kumar in ‘Jolly LLB 2’. Arshad’s resentment came bubbling up to the surface as he was heard saying that Fox Star Studios needed a bigger star like Akshay to facilitate better marketing of the project. He also said that actors like him need good stories to be successful instead of relying on publicity blitzkrieg. After getting some cathartic relief through expressing such strong emotions on this issue, things seem to be coming up roses for Arshad as he has been roped in for ‘Aankhen 2’ instead of Akshay Kumar. Another new entrant to the sequel is Anil Kapoor. So is it now a typical case of poetic justice? “It is just coincidence. It happens at times when the actor you are expecting to reprise his role is replaced by somebody else. I don’t think we should make a song and dance about such things,” Arshad was quoted as saying. While Arshad didn’t feel it necessary to rake up the Akshay episode further, he said he felt happy in getting to work with the likes of Amitabh Bachchan who he has always treated as his idol. “Even at the age of 74, Amitji doesn’t rest on his laurels and takes things easy. He is an inspiration to us all,” says the actor.
