Randeep Hooda, Kajal Aggarwal’s shared ideology: No pain, no gain

While visiting Delhi to promote ‘Do Lafzon Ki Kahani’, the film’s lead pair told us how they had to go through considerable amount of pain to make their characters look realistic. Randeep Hooda still seemed to be in the ‘Sarbjit’ phase – he is playing the character of a fighter in ‘Do Lafzon…’ and shared his weight gain-loss woes for both the films. He said, “I didn’t lose weight for this movie, I lost weight for another movie. I am doing so many movies that I keep forgetting what I did for which movie! I lost weight for ‘Sarbjit’. I was only 65 kgs, but for ‘Do Lafzon…’ I had to put on weight, and now I am 95 kgs.”
Randeep continued, “You can see me with bruises in the poster. For this film, we shot with real fighters, who used to forget that it’s a film and not real life. Our gloves were softer, but the punches were quite hard. I even broke my toe during the shoot. But you know, as they say, ‘no pain, no gain’.”
Talking about his character in the movie, he said, “This is my most reserved and shy character till now. If I have to choose between looking sexy and being an actor, I would choose to be an actor, because I can be an actor and can still look good.” He added, “As a child, I was always curious about people. And now I get to play different characters, be it in Highway or Main Aur Charles, but there are no deliberate attempts from my side to look different in every film – it’s the character which appeals to me.”
