Tusshar Kapoor has a question for the critics

He debuted with ‘Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai’, a romantic entertainer, dabbled with thriller in ‘Kucch To Hai’, adult comedy with ‘Kyaa Kool Hai Hum’ series, comedy with ‘Golmaal’ franchise and even action with ‘Shootout at Lokhandwala’, among others. He has delivered hits, and has also been part of films that failed at the box office.

Coming from an illustrious film family – dad Jeetendra, mom Shobha Kapoor and sister Ekta Kapoor are household names in the industry – Tusshar has learnt many lessons from them and his experience. Yet, the actor maintains that he is not sure what the critics like. In an interview to a daily, he asked, “Why are you so prejudiced against commercial cinema? Fun, masala films require as much talent and focus. Charlie Chaplin popularised slapstick comedy. So, please don’t judge a film based on the sensibilities; focus on its merits. A genre doesn’t necessarily define intelligence.”
